There are several benefits for children who attend the summer camp at Creative Family Day Care. Children are adequately supervised since only a maximum of eight children can be in attendance at one time. In addition, there are sibling discounts so parents do not need to pay the full fee if they have more than one child registered. The fees are the lowest in the area, however parents who qualify can also have their payments subsidized by the government.
During camp children focus on a variety of activities and some of these become hobbies which they can master and focus on throughout the year. This camp focuses on the performing arts. Children are allowed to participate in swimming, drum, piano, guitar, dance and drama lessons, but they can also be involved in other fun activities. They also learn to overcome their fear of interacting with others since they are encouraged to showcase some of their new skills by the end of camp.
Summer Camp begins the week after school ends for the summer break. However, parents are required to register their children for swimming classes from as early as the beginning of May each year if they would like them to participate in those classes. Efforts are being made to include Tae Kwondo and Basketball in the summer program.
Children can also register for the spring break which is also on site, in preparation for the summer program. Even though the activities are not as intensive as during the summer, they get the opportunity to meet other children their age group who are likely to be attending in the summer as well.
Fridays are usually outdoor days. On those occasions children visit various sites which include Six Flags of America. There is no idle time at the camp. Children do not really have much time to watch television or to play electronic games since they are too occupied with fun activities as shown in the photos below:
This child was the most outstanding in the summer camp of 2008. He completed swimming Levels 1, 2 & 3 within two months, and was promoted to Level 4. He performed exceptionally well in bowling, chess, rollerskating and Go Kart racing. He also excelled at a piano recital near the end of summer.
The children enjoyed going to Six Flags of America on a weekly basis every summer. This is a group that visited the Park during the summer of 2007. Those cartoon characters think they are a part of the camp.
The keyboard is a favorite of some of the children in the child care facility. This three year old below loves displaying his drumming skills.
This girl below has been registered in the facility from its inception. Her siblings, who were also registered in the child care with her, are now in high school, but she is still here.
Go Kart Racing was enjoyed by all the children who attended the Creative Family Day Care Summer Camp in 2007 and 2008. This child shows how much fun he had. Time and space does not permit us to give the details of all the activities children participate in during the summer camp. Each year more activities are added.
The boys enjoy playing basketball. This child is showing off his dunking skills at Chuck E. Cheese. This is a favorite site for the children since they always have so much fun.
Again the boys love playing the guitar. The boy below is thrilled by the electric guitar. Perhaps it is the amplifier that fascinates him more than anything else.
He is looking forward to starting both drum and swimming lessons this summer. He is a very gifted and talented young man who is always eager to learn something new.
